Jake's Webelos Camp

This is Jake's Webelos den. He's in the middle. We were up at Camp Tracy in Millcreek Canyon in Salt Lake.
Jake had a lot of fun if you can't tell by the pictures. His den took first place in the straight line race in the canoe, which is a terrific feat since there are 4 born leaders of the 6 boys. They also placed 2nd place in the race where they had to turn their canoe in a full circle. Jake is the one on the far left in the canoe picture.
He had a ton of fun hauling in "victims" with the life preserver while earning his Aquanaut pin. Our only meltdown occured when one of the boys didn't believe he was a strong swimmer.

Adam at EFY

Adam: This is me at EFY up at Logan. These pictures were taken by various new friends with their handy-dandy cell phones. Although why they took them is beyond me. I'm playing And Always in the one with the guitar. I honestly didn't know I was being photographed. And that is me and Aislynn in the bottom we were swing dance partners.

Art Work

This artwork was a Mother's Day present from Kyra.
Like Adam, she is an artist and is immensely enjoying her advanced art class this year. So far only pencil sketches have come home, but they are setting a foundation for greater things to come!

Adam's Art

This is one of Adam's pictures he brought home from his art class last spring. They were obviously doing word art. I at first thought it said STONE, but he soon corrected me and I could see his representation of SILENCE after a minute or so. The red leaf is dotting the I and the cattails make up the C. Regrettably, he didn't have any room in his schedule to take any art classes this year. Read more!

What I've Been Doing Lately

The top picture is of new wallpaper in our laundry room -- yes, I got a little wild and decided to throw some up in this tiny room. I found the pattern while looking for something else and couldn't get it out of my mind. I suppose my house is like everyone else's and your socks get tired of living together and divorce. And for the life of you you can't figure out where they went!
The second picture is of our front room when you walk into the front door. The wallpaper just barely went up and next week we get carpet. YAY! When my wallpaper guy found out that it's taken two years to do a little bit of remodeling, he said, "And you're still married?" I couldn't answer that. It's been a little rough.
The third picture is of my biggest project yet. A neighbor walked in and said, "Oh, you have a wall of fame!" I used to have miscellaneous framed pictures up on this wall, but when I found these frames I loved the "orderliness" of them all. Each child has their own display. I had everything up a month ago, but the white mats were driving me crazy. So I spent all day yesterday taking every single picture back out. I spray painted them with a textured spray paint that looks like brown sand, then got everything hung up by 10pm last night. My experience with spray paint has been very minimal and I only started with one can ---- it took me an entire can for one mat! So, yes, back and forth to Home Depot. Gotta love it. The only thing left for this wall is to put up one of those vinyl lettering sayings at the top. I haven't ordered it yet, but am excited to get it up. It's going to say, "You're nothing short of our everything."

Two More Dance Pictures

This is Adam and Megan at Junior Prom and the Valentine's Dance. NO -- they are not an item. I wish this girl didn't even exist because of the pain she caused Adam, BUT maybe he needed to learn something. I'm just too protective ;]

Past Dances

Here are some past pictures from Adam's dances at school last year. Adam: This is me and Emily Davis, I'm still not quite sure how I got talked into this one, but there I am anyway. There won't be any "formal" dance pictures because this isn't a "formal" dance. Enjoy! I don't have the formal dance picture of this event, but he dressed with this cutie as "mimes". This one is from Adam's first girls-choice dance. He was asked by someone he didn't even know just days after his 16th birthday. She was a member of the volleyball team, and Adam knew several members. They all went together dressed in camouflage and had a great time. Adam: I had a heck of a time figuring out who asked me. Next is Adam and Stephanie on sentry duty.
