BYU Ballroom Dance Performance
Quite a while ago, Adam, Jake, Mom, and I all went down to watch the BYU ballroom dancers do a show. They have been world champions since 1983 in formation, and they are AMAZING. Their outfits and performances were dazzling. We all voted our favorite when they turned off the lights and turned on the black lights. They dressed up in outlandish alien costumes and danced around. Personally, I think that would be the best job in the entire world. My other favorite was where they waltzed to Pirates of the Caribbean. That is now my life dream. At the end they had this huge sheet pulled over them all, and when it got pulled to the side they were all gone. Very dramatic. If you click on the title, it will show you a version of the black light alient dance we saw. If you get onto the following web page, you can see a clip of the Pirates dance and a clip of the If You Could Hie to Kolob dance we saw.

(MOM'S EDIT: The whole evening performance was the first time that this art moved me to tears. It was really beyond words. Even Jake liked it...phew! I was sure I was taking a risk by buying him a ticket)

Kyra's Party
This is Erica speaking (: Kyra had over a bunch of friends over to watch a movie called Blind Side the other night. I was down watching a movie first and then they kicked me out so I had to go upstairs with Adam. We were the only ones home, and we were both pretty bored. Annoyed that they had kicked me out and not let me finish my movie, I stole all of Kyra’s friends’ left shoes and Adam helped me hide them in the dryer, the freezer, on the ceiling fan, etc. It was entertaining to watch them try and find them. We also took a snapshot of a Google web page, and put it as Kyra’s background on her user. Then Adam put all her icons in a hidden folder and hid the start bar so she can’t log out. But she hasn’t figured it out yet, so don’t make it known to her.

Adam and Kyra's Swing Club Year-End Bash
Kyra and Adam are in a swing club after school on Fridays. I would love to join, but I’m not in high school. The point? They go and swing dance after school on Fridays. They get a T-shirt and dance moves. Just the other day they had their first annual (I don’t think it should be called annual if it’s their first) dance party thing. They invited over a bunch of friends and parents and they danced. A few people had practiced routines, like Kyra and Adam. Kyra danced with her friend Collin, and they did a swing to “Check Yes Juliet” by some artist. Adam did a waltz with his girlfriend to “You and Me” by Lifehouse. They both did good. Then just before I had to go, a waltz, my favorite, came on and Adam danced with me. That is one of the highlights of my life. You’d know why if you’ve ever danced with Adam. They both stayed after to watch the other routines and dance with their friends. Click for the title for Adam's Waltz video. Other videos to follow.

Jake's Party
You all should know that Jacob turned 12 this March. If you don’t, well, you do now, so just pretend you did. For his party he invited down a bunch of friends over to the church and had a nerf gun war. For those of you people who are clueless to the world of Nerf, a nerf gun is a gun that shoots out little foam darts at people. I don’t see what the point is, but it’s fun.
So he went down to the church. They played several different types of games, the first was just a free for all in the gym, all against each other. But the second was they took a hostage, and had everyone looking for them. But, since it was thirteen against two, they hired two secret snipers to pick off anyone. Kyra and I were proud to accept this new profession. So we dressed up in black and started shooting people. It was fun. Afterwards they all had push-ups and cupcakes then headed home. Let’s just say I am a sniper ninja up for hire.

Underf-ed
In case any of you are even remotely interested in what’s going on, hi. This is Erica. Mom is . . . busy. With stuff. Yeah. I was voted top reporter and take my duty very seriously. I have interviewed everyone very thoroughly-ish and am here to tell you what is going on. Dad: he said he hadn’t done anything this week. But, using my stealth ninja skills, I saw him showing Jake how to fix the brakes on Saturday. They were under the car for like, an hour. But dad will admit that they did a good job and that Jacob shows promising mechanical...intuity.
Mom: Mom went to Women’s Conference for two days at BYU. She said it was great, and that she hoped it would become a tradition, and she would bring friends next time. I’m not allowed to go. I don’t see why not. I mean, it’s not a big secret or anything. She had fun, so I wanted to go. (MOM’S EDIT: You have to be 16).
Adam: I asked Adam what he had done this week. He said school. That was it. I instantly knew this was code for him not wanting me to know about something. So, with some digging, I discovered that he has also been working hard on his invitation to his girlfriend Jess to go to prom with him. I’m not allowed to say that she’s his girlfriend, but it’s not like he’s going to read any of this, so I guess it’s okay. But it is not okay to tell him. He has also worked mega hours lifeguarding this week. No saves, but he still gets paid.
Kyra: Kyra had a very enjoyable night at the prom. She went to a different one that Adam is going to. Her friend from Davis High asked her. She made her own dress, then made me take pictures, because she knows about my ninja skills with handling cameras and flaming objects. She is also very, very busy preparing for an AP test in European History. Soccer season has also started up and she's reffing up a storm on Saturdays.
Jake: Jake has been busy with karate recently. Apparently, he got first place in his chop-stick-throwing contest. I bet the rest of his opponents were paralyzed. Not like, turn-to-stone-paralyzed but the oh-my-gosh-that-kid-is-good-and-he’s-going-to-win-us-at-throwing-chopsticks sort of paralyzed. He said he’s training in the ways on the ninja. I promised him he could be my minion.
Me: So, well, not much has actually happened that I feel free to let out into the general public. This is classified information we’re talking about here. But I suppose I should tell you about my underf-ed story. So I was reading about the Holocaust in English, right? And I came across the word “underfed” un-derf-ed. So, not quite understanding what this meant, I looked up the root word “derf” in the dictionary. But I couldn’t find it. I was going to ask the teacher, but felt stupid, because what if it was obvious, but I just didn’t get it? About two hours later, at a moment of silence during lunch, I was thinking about it and discovered that it was the word “under-fed” not the past tense of the word “underf.” Wow, I love enlightening moments! I joined the track team a week ago and ran the 800m in last Tuesday's meet. Tried the high jump and figured out that I really need some"how-to's" from any coach who's willing. Copper is our dog, in case any of you were wondering. I’m sure I can get a picture of him without noticing and post it. He’s been doing pretty good. Full of energy and stuff. He’s cute. That’s probably why he’s mine. Ours. I meant ours. He got sick a little while ago, and needs a checkup, but he’s been sleeping a lot. He’s lazy.
