We almost pulled off a surprise birthday party for Adam, but a cousin let it slip at 5:00 that night! We invited new and old friends and Adam loved seeing everyone. The highlight of his night was seeing his old sensai from Mushin Self-Defense, Brian Yamasaki. He was kind enough to step in for a quick hello. We had plenty of treats and ice cream for the crowd. We asked that no gifts be given, but they were welcome to contribute 18 cents to his car fund. Mom had a DVD slideshow running in the background of Adam's 18 years. While the mayhem was happening down below, Erica, Kyra and Nick Miner were in our kitchen putting together spiders. Adam was answering Jessica's Harvest Dance invite by filling her bedroom with these creepy crawlies.
